Obesidad y embarazo


La obesidad es un serio problema de salud a nivel mundial. Las estimaciones en 2014 eran de que aproximadamente 1.900 millones de adultos tenían sobrepeso y más de 500 millones eran obesos. En 2015 se calculaba que unos 42 millones de niños menores de 5 años presentaban sobrepeso, con el riesgo aumentado de presentar obesidad en la edad adulta. Según el Ministerio de Sanidad y Consumo, más de un 16% de los españoles padecen de obesidad y uno de cada dos españoles tiene exceso de peso. El problema que previamente se creía limitado a países con altos ingresos, actualmente se está multiplicando su prevalencia en el resto de países, alcanzando la consideración de pandemia.
