Guía de acreditación de servicios hospitalarios de Joint Commission International


El proceso de acreditación de los centros con los estándares internacionales de Joint Commission International consiste en una evaluación externa, específica del sector sanitario, enfocada hacia el paciente y la organización, basada en estándares profesionales y públicos elaborados por un grupo de trabajo internacional de 16 integrantes, compuesto por médicos, enfermeros y administradores expertos. El grupo de trabajo consta de miembros de las seis principales regiones mundiales: América Latina y el Caribe, Asia y los países de la cuenca del Pacífico, Medio Oriente, Europa Central y del Este, Europa Occidental y África.

Es un proceso de evaluación con independencia e imparcialidad, basado en el juicio entre pares (peer review), continua (cada tres años), mediante estándares indicativos/prescriptivos, con puesta al día regular (cada dos años) donde se introducen temas innovadores y que se adapta a factores culturales y legales de los diferentes países.
